The Fall Of A Republic:

When the thirteen colonies were still a part of England, Professor Alexander Tyler wrote about the fall of the Athenian republic over two thousand years previous to that time:

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasure. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship.

The average age of the world's great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency, from dependency back to bondage."

The recent elections, especially the presidential election is the proof of that statement. People who voted for Owl Gore and his demonic minions did not do so because they thought Owl Gore would be the best thing for our country. They did so because he promised them the most money from the public treasury.

If you think that just is not true, then remember what Jesse Jackson was saying, while campaigning for Gore in Florida: "You get more with Gore!"

People do, indeed they must, vote their pocket book. The "drone class," those who depend of the benevolence of the government for their food, rent and their existence, will vote for the candidate who will promise them the most money from the public treasury. Those who must produce, or starve, and pay the taxes, vote for the candidate who will spend the least money from the public treasury.

With this in mind, and having reviewed the election results from November 2000, the prediction of John Kenneth Galbraith in 1963, "in 70 years one half of the country will be working to support the other half" has finally come true. Just 30 years earlier than he prognosticated (that is predicted for those of you who attended public schools). Quite literally the one half who work (with just a little bit more) had to outvote those who want to suck off the tit of the state.

Based upon the above, we should change the symbol of the United States from the Eagle to the Sow Pig. A big, fat bloated sow. A sow that is suckling choate (that is a baby pig for those of you who live in Terra Buena). In place of "In God We Trust" it should read: "Place your mouth on a tit and suck...there is plenty for everyone."

Sutter County brags on it's home page, it has a budget of $115 Million. A County of this size and population should have a budget of half that amount. Why is our budget so large? First, it is top heavy with bureaucrats and all the freebies that we are handing out to every foreign piece of dirt that blows into Sutter County.

In addition to the bureaucrats and the goodies, there are the people who just can not rely upon themselves. Sheriff Denney said, "service calls have tripled since 1993." Well Sheriff Denney, if people want service, then make them pay for it. Your little goodies like "Patrol Services" are just not necessary. I propose if people can't resolve a neighborhood dispute without calling a Deputy to mediate, they should pay a fee. The only two functions of a Sheriff, per the California Penal Code, is maintain a Civil Division and operate a county jail. Everything else (boat patrol and the cadet program and honor guard, just to name a few), is extra....and costs us taxpayers.

Love us....hate us.......oh well!
