The
person pictured is one Yolanda Fryson. This may mean little to you now,
but it will later. While you (and us) were stumping for our
candidates/causes, a trial in Placer County was taking place. Ms. Fryson
was found guilty of sixteen counts of fraud, bribery, attempted extortion and
attempted grand theft.
Ms. Fryson was a worker at Yuba County Child Protective Services and she attempted to bribe one Christopher Lindsay by stating that she had a file alledging child molestation and could make the allegations go down the proverbial "Orwellian Memory Hole" for a small $10,000 donation to Fryson's favorite charity; no doubt herself.
Lindsay contacted Yuba County CPS, who in turn called the Placer County Sheriff. Ms. Fryson was observed by the Placer County Mounties accepting the money from Lindsay and was promptly arrested in October 2008. Yes, folks, it took almost two years for the criminal case to come to trial.
Now generally, we do not care about most criminal cases; that is we don't care if they do not involve us. Our interest lies in the fact Christopher Lindsay is filing a case in Federal Court for unspecified damages.. The basis for the suit is this; Yuba County failed to adequately supervise Ms. Fryson. You think!!!!! Now Ms. Fryson gets nine years in State Prison (Go C.C.P.O.A), and the taxpayers have to bend over and take it in the form of monetary damages. Here is our take on the entire issue. Why should Joe the Plumber or other residents of Yuba County pay a dime. One of Lindsay's allegation in his suit is "improper supervision." He is right. The supervisor of Fryson should be fired. Along with the head of what ever department Fryson worked for. Cash in their surety bonds (high ranking public officials have one) and let the surety company sue the person to whom the bond was issued for the amount of the bond. Problem solved. This way, the taxpayer is not on the hook for a civil judgment that could be worth millions.
It was discovered Ms. Fryson had an arrest in 2003 for "Forgery" and a conviction for Grand Theft (a felony) in Los Angeles in 1990. Don't they do a background check on employees? Fingerprints? Run a credit report? Who hired Ms. Fryson? According to the Appeal-Democrat, a former supervisor of Fryson stated, "She is known to be an untrustworthy person." Duh!!!! Fryson must have been doing something that lead a supervisor to believe what they told the newspaper and the District Attorney. That supervisor should be forced to pay any judgment from their own pocket. Our inquiries via e-mail, regular mail and telephone calls to officials in Yuba County went unanswered. We contacted the listed head of CPS, the County Counsel's office and three supervisors. Their refusing to answer speaks volumes regarding this issue. They don't give a (bleep) about you the taxpayer or members of this group. All they care about is fattening their own larder on our dime. I am sure, when it is all said and done, the Yuba County insurance policy will give Mr. Lindsay a few hundred thousand dollars.....and the county taxpayer takes it in the shorts. We love it when they say in the local newspaper, "Payment of the settlement was turned over to the county insurance policy." Well, someone has to pay. There is no such thing as a free lunch. It is the taxpayer who will ultimately pay because of higher insurance premiums and the higher taxes needed to pay for the Yuba County insurance policy.
Fryson's attorney is another issue. Who paid for her lawyer? We inquired to his office and found out that Justin Mixon charges big bucks per day during a criminal trial Was Mixon's defense work done pro bono (free)? Or did Ms. Fryson liquidate her PERS (Public Employee's Retirement System) account? Was Fryson extorting other people that were just too embarrassed to come forward? Or way Fryson giving a little on the side for her lawyer. After all, she's a woman and he's a man. Fryson should be forced to pay all monetary damages from her own pocket; not the taxpayer. Our calls and e-mails to Justin Mixon, Ms. Fryson's attorney went unanswered. No shock there.
This case is just another example of obfuscation by public employees. Vote them all out! Even if the person is doing a really good job; vote them out. Do not vote for an incumbent. Send the message; we are sick of their shenanigans.
