Welcome to the homepage of Sutter Lies. We are a group of Libertarians  that believe that government is not part of the solution...it is the problem

We live in a county (Sutter County, California) that has a bloated operational budget.  Sutter County is top heavy with bureaucracy and public "servants" who sit on their brains reading romance books. If it was not for the fact that the security took the film from camera from one of our operatives, we would have a picture of our "hard working public servants" reading the local paper at their desks, instead of working.  Public service, at one time, was a privilege. Yes, you were paid a little less than a job in the private sector, but one did not have to worry about layoffs during the "slow season," paid vacations, sick days and the light at the end of the tunnel was a retirement. Public service and/or government employment now is considered a "right," with the taxpayers being stuck with paying full medical, dental, vision and full retirement at age 50 at 90% of salary. Wait, there is more! What these 'public servants' do is bank vacation, comp time and sick leave and get a lump sum distribution which spikes their final year salary. These people make out like bandits. All at your expense.  You will discover, on these pages, the results of our groups investigation, our opinions on current events and expose wasteful bureaucrats.

Sutter county, like many public entities in California,  is on the brink of financial meltdown. Currently, Sutter County employees do not pay (as of June 1, 2011) a dime into P.E.R.S (California State Employee's Retirement System) for retirement. Nor do they pay into medical/dental/vision. This is definitely going to come back and bite the taxpayers in the pocketbook in years ahead in the form of one, more taxes/fees; and two, cuts in services like road repair.  Wouldn't you like to have a sweetheart deal like that? Many  Sutter County officials, like former Sheriffs Jim Denney and Art Branwood, spiked their salarys prior to retirement (as illustrated in above paragraph), they are currently raking in a cool $100,000 plus per year...all at your expense. According to the PERS website, there are ten retired employees of Sutter County in the $100,000 per year club. This is what you get for voting  Republicrat.

We have removed the "fancy" graphics, roll-over tricks and bulky images that take forever to load so we could save space on our server and get our libertarian message to you as quickly as possible.

A member of our group has graciously accepted the task of placing our political thoughts, theories and opinions on the web for all to see. Get involved...do something. For a glimpse into our philosophy, view our our world view page.
